Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ)

This martial art focuses on ground self defense training.  BJJ emphasizes instruction in submission holds and body positions on the ground.  This co-ed program is an excellent complement to stand up martial arts such as boxing and kickboxing.  Not only is an effective form of self-defense but a great workout and an alternative to conventional exercise programs.

Classes meet Monday and Wednesday 6:30 to 7:30 pm and Thursday 7:30 – 8:30 pm

Membership includes:

- UNLIMITED classes including our other programs (MMA/Thai Boxing, Women’s Kickboxing, Boxing, and Krav Maga),

- Gym Membership at Lionheart Fitness

- Unlimited Tanning at Lionheart Fitness

The Krav Maga Program

Krav Maga is a self-defense system developed for military in Israel and Hungary that consists of a wide combination of techniques sourced from boxing, Muay Thai, Wing Chun, Judo, jiu-jitsu, wrestling, and grappling, along with realistic fight training. Krav Maga is known for its focus on real-world situations and extremely efficient and aggressive counter-attacks.

Krav Maga encourages students to avoid confrontation. If this is impossible or unsafe, it promotes finishing a defense situation as quickly as possible. Students learn to defend against all variety of attacks and are taught to counter in the quickest and most efficient way.
Krav Maga training includes:

  1. - Counter attacking as soon as possible (or attacking pre-emptively).
  2. - Targeting attacks to the body’s most vulnerable points, such as: the eyes, neck/throat, face, solar plexus, groin, ribs, knee, foot, fingers, etc.
  3. - Maximum effectiveness and efficiency in order to neutralize the opponent as quickly as possible.
  4. - Maintaining awareness of surroundings while dealing with the threat in order to look for escape routes, further attackers, objects that could be used to defend or help attack, and so on.
  5. - Training that also aims to improve overall fitness and conditioning.

Membership Fees

The cost for the Mixed Martial Arts program is $75/month, which includes three hours per week of MMA instruction plus unlimited training in any of Titan’s other martial arts classes!!  Martial arts members also are provided with a full gym membership at not only Lionheart Fitness (Downtown Athletic Club I), but also at the North Club located on Martin Street, State College.

Gym Membership Features

Titan Fitness Martial Arts classes include a full membership to Lionheart Fitness, a state of the art facility on Sowers St in downtown State College between College Avenue and Beaver Avenue. In addition to the Cage, Ring, Grappling Room, and striking pads, the facility also has over 50 cardio machines, a killer power rack, free weights, medicine balls, clean locker rooms, sauna and shower facilities. Not to meantion over 50 parking spaces. A complete fighter need good cardio and quality strength training that a facility like this one can provide.
